Most of what goes wrong on a low-voltage job is not technical. It is a change nobody agreed to, a drawing that never existed, or a system only one person understands. These four exist to stop that.

Anything that can take a live system down — a reboot, a firmware push, a firewall change, re-terminating a run that something is plugged into — gets agreed in writing before it happens. We do not work from assumptions about what you can afford to have offline.

Not a mood board and not a verbal. Floor plan, device schedule, port map, VLAN layout and an itemized bill of materials, all in one place that travels with the job. When a question comes up in a ceiling at 4pm, the answer is on the drawing.

One crew runs the cabling, the network, the cameras and the doors — no subcontractor layer you never met. If the only reason a building stays online is the person who wired it, that is a failure, not job security. Documentation gets written alongside the work, not after it.

Credentials, as-built drawings, port maps and test results are handed over — not held as leverage. You should be able to put this site in front of any other contractor tomorrow and have them pick it up without starting over. That is the whole test.
